How To Host Events

To Note Before You Start

This guideline will explain to you how to host a live event on Orykl’s Facebook Page and feature it on Orykl’s Events website page.

Only Orykl practitioners can host events on Orykl.

The event must be free of charge.

The event must be at least 3 weeks into the future.

Events always start on the hour and may last any length of time.

Attendee email addresses collected remain property of both Orykl and you and will be sent to you the day after the event takes place.

You must have your own, paid for Zoom account.

You must have an account on Facebook, be part of the Orykl Practitioners Facebook group, and like and follow the Orykl Facebook Page.

STEP 2: Set up your meeting on Zoom

- Open your Zoom account and create the meeting (call it the same name you will call the event).

- Have settings in Zoom updated to include live meetings.

a. Log in to your Zoom account and access your Settings.
b. Go to the Meeting tab and select In Meeting (Advanced).
c. Turn on Allow Livestreaming of meetings.
d. Check the box next to Facebook.

- Copy the Zoom Invite Link.

STEP 3: Book your event with Orykl

- Go back to Orykl's Calendar (HERE) and book the event on the date and time that you set it up on Zoom.

- Fill in all the required questions strictly as requested (note that applications that are not filled in correctly will need to be resubmitted).

- Amongst other things, you will be required to fill in:

a. Title of event (this should be the same as your Zoom meeting name).
b. Description of the event (min 250 and max 500 characters with spacing).
c. The Zoom Invite Link.

- If you are booking two (or more) slots, you don't need to input all the details again on the second (or subsequent) slot bookings.

STEP 4: Set up your Facebook settings

- Open your Facebook personal page and go to Settings & Privacy and then Settings.

- Click on Business Integrations on the left-hand column.

- Add Zoom as an app.

- Test this prior to going live by doing a test Facebook Live on your personal page.

STEP 5: Checking your event on Orykl

- Orykl will make your event live on www.orykl.com/events within 7 days.

- Once you see your event, register to make sure that the registration form works, and so that you can check the Zoom link on the automated confirmation email is correct.

- Head to Events under the Orykl's Facebook Page, find your event and check that all the details are correct.

- If there are any errors, email Huenu asap.

STEP 6: Promote Your Event

- The more you promote your event, the better it will do, the more people will get to know you and potentially book a private session with you. Do as much marketing as you feel excited to do!
